Norfolk Pictures is a production company born from a concept of inclusion for voices traditionally unheard.
Norfolk Pines are a mysterious phenomenon in the surf community that seem to appear in almost every temperate community where there is good waves. This community connection across countries, oceans and barriers of logic also represents underrepresented stories from the disabled community.
The metaphor of ‘be like a tree’ also embodies overlooked narratives and with the power of a tree, whose roots grow deep while the storm batters the branches is where Norfolk Pictures begins and will bloom each season when given the chance.
Chanel Bowen
Lead producer, Chanel Bowen has been recognised by Screen Producers Australia as One to Watch in 2022 and has built out her slate to encompass stories from her communities; disability and women.
Chanel has worked internationally supported by Screenwest, Australian’s in Film and Screenworks with production companies including Animal Logic Entertainment and Truant Pictures.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Bachelor of Commerce in International Business and trained as an Access Coordinator by Bridge06 with support from Screen Australia, Chanel is a unique voice to guide story authentically.
